ABOUT ME
Hello!
I am so happy you are here...
I am an award-winning Community Strategist and Micro-Activist with a long-standing commitment to trauma-informed care and social justice. In 2009, I founded the International Fuller Woman Network, a body-positive, 501c3 organization centered on fat justice, bodily autonomy, and sexual liberation.
In 2019, I was hired as the Black Organizing Program Manager at Planned Parenthood of Michigan, the first person in Planned Parenthood's history ever to hold this title. Although I am no longer at Planned Parenthood of MI, I continue to develop curricula for Planned Parenthood Federation of America around race, equity, and inclusion principles in organizing and helps to inform patient advocacy initiatives for affiliates nationwide.
I have dedicated my life to Black liberation. Some of my movement work includes serving as Press Chair for the Western Wayne County NAACP, Advocacy Chair for the Black AIDS Institute's Black Treatment Advocates Network, Member of Black Feminist Futures, Program Lead for the Black Women's Round Table Michigan, Certified Strategic Self-Care Group Leader for Women of Color with the SisterCare Alliance and Housing Specialist for LGBTQIA youth at The Ruth Ellis Center in Detroit.
My recognitions include: 2021 Trailblazer Award-Western Wayne County NAACP · 2021 Leadership in Service-Black Women's Roundtable. · 2021 Cornelius Wilson Community Service Award-LGBT Detroit. · 2019 Leadership in Diversity Award-Corp! Magazine. · 2016 Spirit of Detroit Award · 2014 Heineken Taste Maker Award for Community Excellence.· 2013 Ebony.com Plus Fashion Power Players.
